youngxvibes asked: What're your thoughts on Revival Mode?

To tell you the truth for the first minute of so of the song I was really worried the first time I heard it. It’s a very different vibe for ETID all together. The closest song I can think of is “In The Event That Everything Should Go Terribly Wrong” off of Hot Damn! which doesn’t really have vocals. Keith’s use of almost entirely clean vocals in RM is very interesting to me because of The Damned Things and their success with Keith’s singing voice. This could be a new chapter in the ETID sound. The song itself is quite frankly beautiful, I haven’t heard ETID soloing like this in…ever.

Lyrically and sonically it’s a very intimate song. Keith usually preaches from the mound, here he’s shedding his soul in a confession booth. Personal lyrics are nothing new for Keith but I really can’t think of another song that was so clear a look into Keith’s mind and heart. Maybe INRIhab. A friend of mine called this song “conversational” and I think she nailed it with that analysis.

It’s a completely solid song, a lyrical revelation, and a brave new area for ETID to explore. And conquer.
